You’ll usually meet with one or two Avantiico consultants, a partner, and a cross-functional representative, for about 60 minutes.
For most roles you will be asked to do a presentation on a given topic related to your domain. If you are applying for a hands-on Dynamics 365 role a sandbox environment will be provided for you to prepare.
All candidates will have the chance to highlight strengths in four different areas:
- General cognitive ability: Our hiring team do their best to ask open-ended questions to learn how you approach and solve problems. Your ability to explain your thought process and how you use data to inform decisions is what’s most important.
- Leadership: Be prepared to discuss how you have used your brilliant communication and decision-making skills to help others (if you are applying for a leadership role). This might be by stepping up to a leadership role at work or with a non-profit organization, or by helping a team of experts succeed even when you weren’t officially the leader.
- Role-related knowledge: We’re interested in how your individual knowledge and strengths combine with your hands-on expertise drive impacts across business functions. The hiring team doesn’t just look for how you have contributed in the past or today, but how you can grow into different roles within our organization looking forward. Your Microsoft product knowledge will be tested, as if it was a customer situation. Avantiico is a visionary company aligned with Microsoft’s growth strategy.
- Avantiico DNA: We would like to understand how you work individually on projects and how you work on a team. Understanding how you help others, navigate under pressure, make decisions, and how you push yourself to continually develop skills and knowledge within and outside of your comfort zone is something we would like to learn.
For developer candidates, we want to understand your coding skills and technical areas of expertise e.g. Visual Studio, X++, .NET, C#, Application Lifecycle Model (ALM), XML, Azure, AIF, and MDX etc. There’s generally some back and forth in these discussions, just like there is on the job. At Avantiico we like to push each other’s thinking and learn about different approaches to provide the customer with the best solution. Be prepared to talk through your solutions in depth.
Throughout your interview process, don’t hold back asking your interviewers for clarification to make sure you fully understand their questions. And please feel free to interview us, too. Ask questions about the work, our team, culture etc., it might help you decide if the job is the right for you.
