Dynamics AX - Dynamics 365

How to migrate, upgrade and transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365

Dynamics AX 2012 to Dynamics 365

Reimplement to Microsoft Dynamics 365

The standard Microsoft upgrade tools support upgrades from Dynamics AX 2012 R2 to Dynamics 365 and from Dynamics AX 2012 R3 to Dynamics 365.

If your business is running an earlier Dynamics AX2012 version, Dynamics AX2012 RTM,  the Dynamics 365 upgrade project can be accelerated using Avantiico developed Dynamics AX upgrade tools

If you have many existing Dynamics AX customizations you don’t want to bring forward, you need a “clean start”, have significantly changed the way you do business, or if you have many unsupported ISV solutions installed, a AX2012-Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations reimplementing approach may be best for your organization.

Upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics 365

The Dynamics AX upgrade tools provided by Microsoft support an upgrade from Dynamics AX 2012 R2-Dynamics 365 and from Dynamics AX 2012 R3-Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

The Microsoft AX-365 upgrade tools are designed to help move your Dynamics data and relevant Dynamics AX modifications to Dynamics 365. Before you start your upgrade to Dynamics 365 Finance / 365 Supply Chain Management, you need to upgrade Dynamics AX with the latest available cumulative update of Dynamics AX2012 R2/R3.

Please note that the Microsoft Dynamics upgrade tools have limitations for some Microsoft AX2012 R2 and AX 2012 R3 users. Based on feature and module configuration decisions some AX2012 users have turned on features which are now deprecated Microsoft Dynamics features. As an example, if your Dynamics AX2012 set-up is using virutal companies or if AX2012 data partitions are implemented, the Microsoft AX2012 upgrade tools will not work for your scenario.

Other factors such as Microsoft ISV solutions and Microsoft Dynamics AX modifications should be evaluated as well. Avantiico can help assess whether your Dynamics AX2012 application can be upgraded using a set of Microsoft and Avantiico built tools.
