This session is geared towards existing users of on-premise Microsoft Dynamics as well as new users of Microsoft Dynamics 365. Join this technical track to learn about how your organization can approach an Upgrade/Migration and get an overview of various technical and project management paths to move from your current version of Microsoft Dynamics AX to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and or Supply Chain Management.
The presentation covers:Â
In order to give you the best session outcome, and make it easier for the presenter to provide you with industry best practices, we will ask you to do a little introduction so the Avantiico team and the other participants can understand your ERP challenges, industry, goals, Dynamics AX version etc.
Review data upgrade paths and tools for upgrading to AX2012 to upgrade all transactional data to D365. Review Data entities and data management workspace to migrate data when re-implementing to bring in master, setup and selected transactional data
Understanding the new extension model in D365 and migrating overlaying code to extensions and new development patterns for Chain of command, delegates, event handles and extension model. Review the Microsoft code upgrade tools to upgrade AX2012 customizations to D365 compatible x++ code.
Review the continuous automatic update model, resources and risks for testing, validation and ensuring customizations, ISV solutions are compatible. Review LCS tools for applying code updates and Microsoft updates, update schedule, pausing and monitoring updates.
Review architecture changes in Microsoft hosted D365, database access and integration options including Bring your own database (BYOD), Entity store, web services, file storage and attchments, Reporting and BI analysis options.
