Important updates regarding the Dynamics AX Extended Support Delay and information on Dynamics 365 Cloud Migrations.
As Microsoft and Avantiico continue to support local California based organizations as well as international businesses affected by the COVID-19 crisis, our purpose is to ensure that your organization can operate without delays, disruption, and financial impact, while keeping employees, customers, and vendors safe and healthy.
As part of this effort, the Extended Support end date for all Dynamics AX 2009, Dynamics AX 2012, and Dynamics AX 2012 R2 on-premises customers will be delayed for an additional six months. The new extended support end date will be April 12, 2022.
Â
If you are an existing Microsoft Dynamics or Avantiico customer who has purchased the new Dynamics 365 product licenses incl. Dynamics 365 Finance, Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management or Dynamics 365 Commerce via an Enterprise Agreement (EA) (Volume licensing – Learn more about Microsoft licensing agreements here) with the intent to start your data migration from Dynamics AX to Dynamics 365, you will receive Extended Security Updates at no charge:
Â
The Microsoft Extended Security Updates program provides your organization with critical security updates to all existing AX deployments and gives you the option of maintaining your Dynamics on-premises technical support until January 12, 2023.
Additionally, these Dynamics AX customers will be eligible for a 50% discount on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Professional Direct Support, which provides advisory services for on-premises to cloud migration.
Customers will be charged $4.50 a month, for a minimum of 1 year.
Q: Which customers will receive a delayed end date for Extended Support?
A: Dynamics AX 2009/AX 2012/AX 2012 R2 customers
Â
Q: What actions do customers need to take to delay the end date for Extended Support?
A: No action required. Dynamics AX 2009/2012/2012 R2 customers will automatically receive a delayed end date for Extended Support. The support lifecycle page will be updated accordingly.
Â
Q: Is technical support included with Extended Support?
A: No, but customers can use an active support contract such as Software Assurance, Dynamics Enhancement Plan, Dynamics Advantage Plan, or Unified Support for the relevant on-premises product(s) to get technical support if they choose to stay on-premises.
Â
Q: Can customers get technical support on-premises for Dynamics AX2009/2012/2012R2 after the new extended support date of April 12, 2022?
A: If a customer has Dynamics AX 2009/2012/2012 R2 and chooses to remain on-premises, they cannot log a support ticket, even if they have a support plan. However, if they choose to purchase the Dynamics 365 Cloud Migration offer, they will be entitled to technical support for on-premises through January 2023.
Â
Q: What are the benefits of the Cloud Migration offer?
A: The Cloud Migration offer has the following benefits to customers:
Â
Q: Can a customer get technical support on a product after the extended support date without purchasing the cloud migration offer?
A: No. If a customer chooses to remain on-premises without migrating to the cloud, they cannot log a support ticket, even if they have a support plan.
Â
Q: What is the Extended Security Update?
A: The Extended Security Update (ESU) program is a last resort option for customers who need to run certain legacy Microsoft products past the end of support. It includes critical security updates. ESUs do not include new features, customer-requested non-security updates, or design change requests.
